Wind Energy

In recent years, wind energy has become a fast growing energy technology and is one of the most attractive sources of renewable energies. Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into a usable form of energy as the use of wind turbines to make electricity. The wind energy system transforms the kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical or electrical energy.

A wind farm is a group of wind turbines in the same location used for production of electric power. Individual turbines are interconnected with a power collection system and communications network. A large wind farm may range from few dozen to several hundred individual wind turbines, and cover an extended area of hundreds of square miles. The land between the turbines may also be used for agricultural or other purposes.

Wind farms can be installed either on terrain or offshore areas near the coast. An offshore wind farm takes advantage of strong winds blowing over the surface of an ocean or lake. Studies of the wind conditions are needed to assess if a region can produce an efficient amount of energy.

Location Planning

  • Wind speed
  • Altitude
  • Wind park effect
  • Environmental and aesthetic impacts
  • Effect on power grid

The wind farms are located wherever land area is sufficient. Turbines are spaced five rotor diameters apart perpendicular to the prevailing wind, and five to ten rotor diameters apart in the direction of the prevailing wind, to minimize efficiency loss which can be as low as 2% of the combined nameplate rating of the turbines.

Our Involvement

We promote substantial wind farm projects that involve companies with considerable achievements in the field of renewable energy. Many of these projects are government supported and ready for development in strategic locations with geopolitical significance. These projects have completed studies showing their suitability to support a wind farm. In addition, the permits have been obtained from the respective government authorities to allow the construction of wind farms.
